ASI is governed by a Board of Directors (BoD). The BoD consists of 19 students. This includes Five elected executive officers and 14 Directors representing each of the colleges as well as students-at-large, students with special and dual majors, and students residing in the on-campus residence halls.

As the ASI Executive Director, Pat Areffi’s primary responsibilities are to ensure that ASI business affairs and interests are in line with the State of California, the Board of Trustees, and University laws, regulations and policies. He routinely interacts with the University’s senior management and coordinates staffing in the day-to-day operations of the Corporation. Pat is also an ex-officio member of the BoD and the Finance Board.

Shannon Stratton advises the student leaders on various aspects of leadership through group and individual mentoring, focusing on values based leadership. He provides structure and support for programs within ASI and with other student groups and departments of Student Life. He reports to the Executive Director, is an ex-officio member of the BoD and Club Allocation Board. As an alumni of Cal-State he has a strong bond to the University and the community. Other activities include interaction with various entities on campus and the community to provide service learning opportunities for students.

As the Administrative Coordinator, Dacia Woods supports and coordinates the clerical and administrative functions of the ASI main office. She additionally works with other campus offices as necessary to ensure the smooth flow of administrative and fiscal processes as it relates to ASI. Dacia is the first contact for students with regards to ASI policies and procedures. She reports to the Executive Director.
